800 Applicants to be Chosen by Random Lottery
HAP Collaborating with Residents and Public
The Housing Authority of Plainfield (HAP) has announced that the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is now open. 800 applicants will be chosen and placed on the waiting list through a random lottery. HAP will collaborate with residents and the public throughout the process.
HAP last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from December 18, 2023, to January 5, 2023. The Section 8 Housing Voucher Program assists low and very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled in affording safe and quality housing in the private rental market. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and administered by HAP.
To be eligible for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program, applicants must meet certain income and other requirements. Applicants can apply online at www.plainfieldhap.org or by calling (908) 753-8303.
